Highly embarrassing and highly funny, this programme was one of the best new sitcoms to grace our screens in 2004 and has sucessfully extended the laughs over another series and three Christmas specials. With no laugh track or obvious one-liners much of the comedy comes in the form farce - Howard is very unlucky!

The Worst Week of my Life will no doubt remind many of the Ben Stiller film Meet the Parents because, like in that, the groom-to-be does everything wrong that he possibly can - for example in the first two episodes Howard managed to lose the wedding ring twice, kill his fiancee's parent's dog and give the impression he has thrown his toilet stool out of the bathroom window and more.

It's comedy at a basic level but there's nothing wrong with that as it's very good, very embarrassing and most importantly very funny!

This sitcom is currently being re-made for an American audience but sadly the 2006 Christmas specials are likely to be the last we see of the British version of Worst Week. The BBC have cancelled the British series. Alison Steadman who plays Angela in the series says: "The BBC, for reasons best known to themselves, have cancelled it. I was so upset. Best to go out on a high, they say. How many times have we heard that? I bet it's a huge hit in the US."
