One Home Good, Two Homes Bad

Yet another Cornish cottage is sold as a holiday home to a nice couple down from London. Stroppy shopkeeper Mary and the people of St Gweep decide enough is enough... And a shipwreck off the coast causes a mysterious but practical cargo to be washed up onto the beach. Tupperware Fever takes hold in the village.

Fear Of Bungee

Bungee jumping comes to the Cornish village of St Gweep - who will find the courage and sheer stupidity to jump? And the sub-post office is smeared with fish in yet another attack of vandalism by the bored youths of the village. Mary decides she must act to stamp out this pox. She finds the supreme punishment: the children must paint a mural.

Swingers

Jeff’s dirty little secret is out: he runs Swingers’ Evenings in the room above the pub. Mary and Angela disapprove, but compete to be invited. And Old Jake, the melancholy Cornish boatman, goes missing, his clothes washed up on the beach. The villagers grieve, briefly, then fight over his possessions.

Tin, Tin, Tin

The local electricity generator blows away in the fierce Cornish winds. Angela, appointed Power Cut Tsar, tries to whip up the spirit that made the Blitz so much fun. Mary becomes obsessed with matchmaking Holly and Harry, because frankly she’d like to watch them making love. Big mistake.

A Problem Shared Is A Problem Doubled

Angela's evil old headmistress arrives unexpectedly in St Gweep, reawakening the trauma of when she made her do a cross country run in her underwear. Angela plots her revenge. And Mary gets hold of a body-piercing kit and she's not afraid to use it, even though she has lost the instructions...

Un, Deu, Try, Figo, Quiggly

In an effort to raise awareness of the Cornish language, Holly organises an evening of ancient Cornish food and country dancing. Mary and Angela's "special love" is put under threat when a handsome visitor takes a liking to Angela. Will she be lured away to London, or will doubts about her mental stability save the day?

SERIES 2 - First broadcast 2004

The Exploding Car

After 15 years together, odd couple Mary and Angela have decided to split up. Mary has enjoyed being a "lesbeen", but feels the time has come for both of them to find male friends. Meanwhile PC Alan is on the case of who set fire to a car.

Magical Horses

Mary decides to woo PC Alan and Angela discovers a passion for literature. Meanwhile Old Jake finds three mysterious white horses and attempts to turn into a tourist attraction.

Angela Learns to Drive

Mary and PC Alan search for a place to consummate their new relationship. Meanwhile, Angela persuades the rest of the villagers to help her learn to drive.

Cornish Flu

It is the Bank Holiday weekend, the busiest time of the year, but everyone in the village has gone down with Cornish flu. It is up to Mary and Angela, the only ones who are immune, to save the day.

The Film Crew

A film crew comes to the village to make a TV drama. Mary pressurises the producer into finding a part for her and Angela, allowing Angela to explore her new passion for acting. Meanwhile Old Jake discovers that he has a daughter.

Holly Loses Faith in Witchcraft

Angela's new boyfriend drives Mary insane and in an attempt to get rid of him she pretends to split up with PC Alan, but the scheme backfires. Meanwhile, Holly loses her faith in magic.
