Old bugger (48) attemting second career in writing. Formerly adverting writer/creative director - having written stuff that sadly, you will still remember. Gave me a great opportunity to shoot stuff, though-albeit 40 seconds long - and to work with some great people, especially comedians (Enfield, Hogan, Fry & Laurie,Bob Mortimer (top geezer)as well as big name directors - John Lloyd, Jon Glazier, Stephen Frears,John Birkin (that's a lot of Johns, John). You'd think with all these 'contacts' it'd be a breeze getting stuff going, but it ain't. I've had some sucess with a Rom-Com film that got as far as Jane Tranter at the Beeb, and currently have a film with a tame ITV producer. I even got me an agent. And of course thee's the novel that almost got published.

Writers Directory Profile:
My background is advertising(writer/creative director), therefore my stuff tends to be quite well thought out visually. It also means I know how stuff gets made and how to write stuff that can get made. I like to think 20 years of editing, editing, editing, to get stuff down to 30 seconds was time well spent. My dialogue - I think - is pretty damn fine. And I've had very positive comments from people in the know.I've also managed to secure an agent, Guy Rose at FRA Associates.
I'm in a weird position because I can commit myself full time if needs be as I don't work ( stashed enough away in adland to keep the wolf from the door for a few years). Would love to get some commissioned work - even on spec ( rather get paid though - the wolves get half way up the garden path sometimes).I have a 24 carat family pedigree in this business, but don't tend to shout about it. Also, it doesn't seem to open as many doors as you would imagine.
