Writers Directory Profile:
Hi!
I'm Ian Wolf (Real name Ian Dunn). I'm 22 years old, have Asperger's syndrome, and mainly work as the BCG's news reporter. I want to get into comedy as both a performer and a stand-up. I've once came runner-up in Channel 4's "Send-a-Sketch" competition on their 4Laughs website. I was also chairman of the University of Teesside Comedy Society. You can visit the old Youtube page here. Some of these clips helped my university win the It's Not Funny competition, winning a comedy gig featuring Bill Bailey, Marcus Brigstocke, Andrew Maxwell and Simon Amstell.
I have also performed comedy successfully. I and several other people performed a tribute to "QI" for our university, which worked very well.
My favourite sitcoms include "Dad's Army", "Yes Minister", "Drop the Dead Donkey", "Black Books", "Seinfeld" and top of the list, "Green Wing" (Tamsin Greig is the funniest woman around, no question).
Other comedies I like include on TV include "The Day Today", "Futurama", "QI", "Have I Got News For You" and "The Colbert Report".
On radio, I like "I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue", "The Now Show", "Just a Minute", "It's Been a Bad Week", "Genius" and many of the comedies on BBC Radio 7 such as "The Penny Dreadfuls Present..." and "A Series of Psychotic Episodes". I have once read the comedy recommendations on the show.
I have had some sketches for NewsRevue and Tilt broadcast, and also sent in a cutting to The News Quiz which got read out in the first episode of 2009. I have also attempted stand-up comedy, but that wasn't as successful.
My current project is working as a "Newshound" for QI, finding news stories that are quite interesting. See my work on the QI webstie. View Entire Directory Entry
