SERIES 1 - First broadcast 2006

1. Episode One

Roy’s problems escalate when a pigeon takes refuge in the roof of the ice rink on the day of the British Championship heats; however, his friend Rocky has a rather unorthodox plan to get rid of it...

2. Episode Two

The rivalry between Jeanette and Barbara intensifies as Roy tries to pacify both the women in his life. After Trisha successfully qualifies for the British Junior Figure Skating finals Jeanette decides to hold a sponsored skateathon with the Junior Penguins to raise the money to fund her way. However, as ever Barbara throws a skate in the works when mid-way through the stakeathon she announces the Penguins will have to go as the rink is already booked. Once again Roy finds himself acting as peacemaker as Derby Ice Bowl’s two trainers clash.

Elsewhere Dennis finds himself in a tricky situation with the ice hockey team when the cardio-suite fails to arrive. Things go from bad to worse for Roy when he tries to find a compromise between Jeanette and Barbara, only to find that Rocky has left the curling lounge in rather a compromising position...

3. Episode Three

Jeanette becomes distracted by the National Championships and ends up being accused of neglecting the Penguins, while Roy considers Rocky’s offer of retirement. Elsewhere at the Derby Ice Bowl, Dennis is appalled when he learns Rocky is the new sponsor of the ice hockey team, the Derby Devils, and has decided to rename them!

Barbara and Margaret-Ann try to make a good impression with a journalist interviewing Natalie about the National Championships; however, Natalie is not quite so enthusiastic. Things go from bad to worse for Dennis before their big game with the Peterborough Piranhas when Rocky arrives with the new team strip which doesn’t quite suit their macho image...

4. Episode Four

At Rocky's suggestion, Roy is showing a valuator round the rink when curling club captain Les Drummond dies suddenly on the ice. Roy generously decides to host a memorial service for his old friend at the rink.

Meanwhile Barbara starts truculent Natalie on a rigorous diet and exercise regime, while Jeanette has an uncharacteristic row with Trisha over her embarrassing dress.

5. Episode Five

Preparations are in full swing for the arrival of Nikki Sumner to inspect the rink to see if it is a suitable venue for the championships. Rocky is showing a contractor around the rink, secretly planning for its demolition. During the tour, he inadvertently turns off the machinery in the plant room. Nikki arrives just as the rink reaches a critical ice/slush ratio.

6. Episode Six

On the night before the championships, there is much anticipation and excitement. Trisha and Jeantte are still working on the finer points of Trisha's routine, while Barbara's more concerned with the working the room upstairs and buttering up Deeside Tony.
