Tim Bisley
played by Simon Pegg

Tim Bisley (Simon Pegg) We first meet Tim as he is dumped by his girlfriend Sarah. This sets the theme for series one, in which he moves out and into a flat with Daisy.

Tim works in a comic book shop with his boss Bilbo (Bill Bailey). Tim's love of his work is clear as he is also trying to become a graphic artist and getting a job with Dark Star comics. His favourite mode of transport is a skateboard. He is rarely without best friend Mike, and adores playing computer games.

Daisy Steiner

Daisy Steiner (Jessica Stevenson) Daisy is moving out and begins her flat hunt with Tim in a café. They soon realise to get the best flat they must pose as a 'professional couple'.

Daisy is a writer and journalist of sorts but lacks motivation. She has tried lots of jobs, from working in a kitchen to a bookshop; her excuse is that she is gaining real life experience.

She is best friends with Twist (Katy Carmichael) and likes to share a drink with landlady Marsha (Julia Deakin) from time to time. She has a dog called Colin.

Mike Watt
played by Nick Frost

As a child, Mike wanted to be in the real Army but an accident that subsequently detached his retinas prevented this from becoming reality. In his spare time he enjoys Robot Wars. He drives a camouflaged van and is very good with a gun.

Brian Topp
played by Mark Heap

Brian Topp (Mark Heap) Brian is a tortured artist, mostly concentrating on portraying pain, fear and anger. He likes to approach the canvas in different ways, and may decide to use a body part rather than a brush.

Brian feels he is under the shadow of performance artist Vulva (David Walliams), his ex working partner. He begins a relationship with Twist and becomes happy, but loses his ability to paint.

Marsha Klein
played by Julia Deakin

Marsha Klein (Julia Deakin) Marsha is the landlady of 23 Meteor Street. She lives on the top floor with her faceless teenage daughter, Amber. She enjoys a glass of wine for breakfast, lunch and dinner and had a relationship with Brian in return for his rent.

Marsha was on course to be an Olympic athlete but alcohol changed things.

Other Regular Characters
Twist Morgan
played by Katy Carmichael

Fashion conscious Twist is Daisy's best friend. She is a fashion victim who claims to work in the industry, but is actually an assistant at a drycleaners. No one is really sure why Daisy is friends with her. She begins a relationship with Brian.

Tyres O'Flaherty
played by Michael Smiley

Tyres is a courier who transports Tim's drawings around for him. He likes to go to clubs and can hear the music in everything, from a phone ringing to a kettle boiling. He has a very short attention span and is incredibly forgetful, meaning Tim gets away with owing him money. He travels everywhere on his cycle, hence his name.

Colin
played by Aida (The Dog)

Colin is Daisy's pride and joy. As a child Daisy was never allowed a dog and now she has Colin. Tim is unsure about the dog at first until Colin gets kidnapped and Tim leads the rescue mission.

Sarah

Sarah is Tim's ex-girlfriend who frequently takes a baseball bat to Tim's heart. She split up with Tim to go out with Duane Benzie.

Duane Benzie

Duane is tall, handsome and charming – everything Tim is not, and hates. Duane is the man Tim's ex Sarah left him for. They meet throughout the show, once in a club when Duane tries to charm Daisy, and at a paintball challenge, when he and Tim have a stand-off.

Bilbo
played by Bill Bailey

Bilbo runs the comic shop Tim works in. They get on very well, until Tim's bad feelings about The Phantom Menace get the better of him. Bilbo sacks him, but Tim is later reinstated when they realise they cannot work without each other.

Sophie
played by Lucy Akhurst

Beautiful Sophie is an assistant at Dark Star comics. Tim has always fancied her, and they start seeing each other – when Marsha is being hoodwinked into believing Tim and Daisy are the item. Their relationship is a good one, but ultimately doomed as Sophie cannot refuse a job offer from Marvel in Seattle.
