Synopsis:

Wolfie Smith leads South London's premier Marxist revolutionary movement - the Tooting Popular Front. Aided by his best friend Ken, Sweeney, and Tucker (and also on occasion by girlfriend Shirley), his constant battle against the establishment, democracy, capitalism, and much of modern society in general fails at every turn. Of course, unlike successful revolutionaries, Wolfie is more than slightly work-shy.

BSG Review:

Although perhaps a little forgotten and underrated, Citizen Smith is still a fondly remembered sitcom by those who do, and rightly so.
The comedy has not particularly dated any, and the inherent themes, although perhaps less common today, still ring true.
An interesting and entertaining programme.

Notes:

Cheryl Hall, who played Wolfie's girlfriend Shirley, was actually Robert Lindsay's wife at the time. The second episode of series three was entitled 'Only Fools and Horses'. This, of course, went on to become the title of Sullivan's next project.
