Synopsis:

It is the year 123 AD, and after accidentally insulting the Emperor's girlfriend, Aulus Paulinus finds himself expelled from the comforts of Rome to a wet, cold island in the far corner of the Empire - Britain.
Based in Chelmsford, he knows little - and understands less - of the peoples he has been sent to control, and so regularly finds himself at odds with (and more often than not, outwitted by) the local Celtic tribal leader, Badvoc.

BSG Review:

Not really a bad offering at all from Mulville and McGrath. Vaguely similar to Blackadder, Chelmsford 123 is entertaining, clever (until Aulus arrives in Britain, the first episode is completely in Latin), funny, and has some great lines.

Certainly one to see, especially for the comedy nerds amongst us.

Notes:

Chelmsford 123 was the premiere offering from Hat Trick Productions, who went on to become the most successful production house for British comedy in the 1990s.
