VII) - First broadcast 1997 |
1. Tikka To Ride
When the crew are recreated after their future selves killed
them, Lister has bigger worries to consider such as Red Dwarf
having run out of curry and lager! Going against the crew's
advice, he uses the time drive to take them to a curry house
in Liverpool, but accidentally they get taken to Dallas, the
day that Kennedy was shot. The problems don't end there, as
they knock the gunman out of a window and then end up having
to sort things out so that the President still gets shot!
|
Best Quote: The Dwarfers are stuck in time,
and Kryten has just cooked them a meal.
Cat - "Chicken's good."
Lister - "Yeah, really good."
Kryten - "That's not chicken, sir."
Cat - "Oh, what is it?"
Kryten - "It's that man we found." |
First broadcast: 17th Jan 1997

2. Stoke Me A Clipper
'Ace Rimmer', Rimmer's better looking alternate being, arrives
on Red Dwarf dying and tries to train Rimmer into being the
next Ace. Millions of alternate Rimmers had done it before
him, so he believed that even the arrogant, slimy Rimmer must
be able to do it. Deciding to go ahead, Rimmer pretends to
leave as Ace and jets off to save the universe. Unfortunately,
he doesn't quite get the catchprase right: "Stoke me
a clipper, I'll be back for Christmas!"
|
Best Quote: The crew are all delighted to
see Ace again...apart from Rimmer!
Kryten - "So, what have you been up to,
sir?"
Ace - "Nothing special. Saved a couple of
universes, overthrown a few dictatorships, turned down
a heapful of marriage proposals and had my highlights
done!"
Cat - "What a guy!" |
First broadcast: 24th Jan 1997
|
3. Ouroboros
When two Red Dwarf realities collide, the Dwarfers encounter
a alternate universe with a Cat, Kryten and a hologramatic
version of Lister. And, of course, a Kochanski. Lister's delighted
to see her again, and when the realities get separated and
she's stranded on the wrong side, Kryten starts to get jealous
that she'll take Lister away from him. Quickly, he goes about
trying to find ways to send her back.
|
Best Quote: Rimmer and Lister having another
argument in a flashback.
Rimmer - "Oh ha, ha!
Lister - "Rimmer, people who say 'ha, ha'
have no sense of humour, they can't think of a witty
retort."
Rimmer - (pause) "Oh ha, ha!" |
First broadcast: 31st Jan 1997
|
4. Duct Soup
Kochanski's finding life on the Dwarf with the boys a bit
tough. No baths, pipes in her sleeping quarters that squeak
and moan all night and chilled trainers in the fridge! When
the ship takes a wrong turning, the crew end up crawling through
the ducts all night. For some, it wasn't all a waste seeing
as they found out some interesting things about each other!
|
Best Quote: Kochanski finds life aboard Red
Dwarf with the guys hard work.
Kochanski - "I can't live like this, I
need a bath. I hate showers, I've always hated showers.
Ask anyone who knows me what I hate, and do you know
what they'll say??"
Kryten - "Erm, you hate showers?"
Kochanski - "You see! Even you know, and
you hardly know me!" |
First broadcast: 7th Feb 1997
|
5. Blue
Much to the surprise of the crew, Lister finds himself actually
missing Rimmer now that he's left Red Dwarf! Kryten comes
up with an idea to help by making a virtual tour of the life
of Arnold Rimmer called "The Rimmer Experience".
Afterwards, Lister will never miss Rimmer again....
|
Best Quote: The Cat gets sick of Lister talking
about Rimmer.
Cat - "He won't throw anything away because
it reminds him of the good times he had with Rimmer!
I must have blinked and missed them." |
First broadcast: 14th Feb 1997
|
6. Beyond A Joke
Kryten is fed up. He cooks the crew a delicious lobster meal,
and they'd rather go in the artificial reality suite with
Kochanski and play the 'Pride & Prejudice' game. He gets
so angry, his head gets blown off and the crew have to venture
into Simulant territory to try and get him another one. Big
mistake!
|
Best Quote: Kryten drives a World War 2 tank
into the Pride & Prejudice world.
Kryten - "Perhaps I didn't make myself
clear. I said supper is ready!"
[ Then he blows up the gazebo.] |
First broadcast: 21st Feb 1997
|
7. Epideme
The crew discover a giant spacecraft in which they find the
frozen body of Caroline Carmen, a former member of the Red
Dwarf crew. They take the body back to Starbug, only to find
out that it's a zombie that is being animated by an especially
nasty virus called 'Epideme'. After a short while Lister becomes
infected with Epideme and has only a short time to live. Kryten
hooks up the Universal Language Translator and manages to
establish communication with the virus. He tries to talk the
virus out of killing Lister, but fails. As a last desperate
measure, they force the virus into moving into Lister's arm,
which is then amputated.
|
Best Quote: Epideme talking to Lister
Epideme - Davey, come oooon. You ve got a virus, it's fatal, it
happens. It doesn't mean we can't be friends! |
First broadcast: 28th Feb 1997
|
8. Nanarchy
Lister is finding it very difficult to get used to life
with only one arm and Kryten's attempt to provide a acceptable
artificial substitute fails, they decide Lister's only hope
is if they can find some nanobots. The crew take Starbug back
to the planet where they found the 'Esperanto' (see episode:
'Back To Reality'). They find
some nanobots on board the ship and Kryten gets the tiny robots
to build a new arm for Lister.
|
Best Quote: Cat talking to Lister after he
has lost his arm
Cat - You're probably thinking is this gonna
affect my life? And i've been thinking about this and
the answer is... Yes it is. |
