V) - First broadcast 1992 |
1. Holoship
Rimmer is sent from Red Dwarf to Holoship "Enlightenment"
which has the highest of the high working there. Everything
he ever wanted seems to be on board this ship, but unfortunately
the path of success never did run smooth for Rimmer!

Kryten - "They've taken Mr. Rimmer!"
Cat - "Quick, let's get out of here before
they bring him back!" |

2. The Inquisitor
When The Inquisitor beams down into Red Dwarf, the crew have
to justify their existence to him and prove that they are
worthy of life. The ones that aren't are erased from time.
Unfortunately, and rather surprisingly, it is Lister and Kryten
that are deemed unworthy of life. Just as they are about to
be erased, the pair come up with a plan to stop it...

Cat - "I have given pleasure to the world
because I have such a beautiful ass."
Inquisitor - "That's true"
Cat - "Can I go now?"
Inquisitor - "That's your case?"
Cat - "You need more?!" |

3. Terrorform
When Rimmer and Kryten go moon hopping, Kryten ends up getting
injured. When Lister and Cat rescue him, he explains to them
that the planet they are on is made up of Rimmer's mind. A
psi-moon. The terrain of the moon is made up of characteristics
of Rimmer. Scary for the crew, especially when they have to
go out there and rescue Rimmer from his own self-loathing!

Best Quote: Kryten explaining to Lister about
a psi-moon.
Kryten - "Well, each person's mindscape
is unique but we could well encounter, say, Mr. Rimmer's
lust personified as some kind of slobbering, rampaging
beast."
Lister - "Rimmer's lust monster?! Urrgh." |

4. Quarantine
On encountering another ship, the crew go into rescue the
female hologram on board. Much to their horror, they discover
that she has contracted a holo virus, and has gone completely
insane. When back on board, Rimmer cruelly puts Lister, Cat
and Kryten into quarantine for a long time and watches with
glee as they go mad in the captivity. Unfortunately, none
of them could have known that Rimmer himself would contract
the holo virus.

looking rather crazed after contracting the holo-virus.
Rimmer - "You don't think there's anything
amiss? I'm sitting here wearing a red and white checked
gingham dress and army boots and you think that's un-amiss?"
Cat - "No, of course not. It's just that
we thought you had gone nuts! We were trying to humour
you." |

5. Demons and Angels
Using Kryten's matter paddle, the crew manage to figure out
how to triplicate things. First a strawberry...and then Red
Dwarf! They accidentally transport the beam outwards by mistake,
which blows up the original Red Dwarf and ends up making a
divine copy of the ship and a low and grimy one. Going on
board both, they attempt to recover the matter paddle from
one of them and recover the first Red Dwarf. Of course, their
alter-egos are also on board both. Fancy meeting a saintly
Lister and a Rocky Horror version of Rimmer?!

Lister - "I tell you one thing: I've been to a
parallel universe, I've seen time running backwards,
I've played pool with planets, and I've given birth
to twins, but I never thought in my entire life I'd
taste an edible Pot Noodle." |

6. Back To Reality
The Dwarfers start to explore an abandoned space ship on
the ocean bed, and slowly they start to realise that the bodies
they are finding are all victims of suicide. They were forced
to suicide by a creature called a despair squid which emits
a kind of ink and makes them hallucinate. Unfortunately, the
same happens to the Dwarfers and before long, they believe
they are in an artificial reality game where the Cat is a
dork called Dwane Dibbley and Lister is a dangerous mass murderer
working for the CGI!
