SERIES 2 - First broadcast 19751. Just Desserts Fletch has acquired an illicit tin of pineapple chunks, but they are stolen before he has the chance to enjoy them. It soon emerges that the pineapple chunks have surfaced in a rather unexpected place, while Godber's attempts to steal a new tin from the kitchen for Fletch don't quite have the desired result. First broadcast: 24th Oct 1975 2. Heartbreak Hotel Being on the inside doesn't stop Godber romancing his fiancée, Denise, although events on the outside ensure the path of true love doesn't run smoothly. An unexpected letter leads to Godber having to explain his actions to the governor, but are there blue skies on the horizon? First broadcast: 31st Oct 1975 3. Disturbing The Peace When MacKay is sent on a course, the prisoners look forward to life under Mr Barrowclough's more relaxed regime. Dreams are dashed when Mr Wainwright - legendary in the prison service for his tough approach, as Fletch remembers from his time in Brixton - arrives as MacKay's replacement. When Wainwright moves Mr Barrowclough from the cellblocks to the prison farm, the prisoners decide something must be done. First broadcast: 7th Nov 1975 4. Happy Release Fletcher is in the prison hospital with a broken ankle. He arrives on the ward to find that old man Blanco has lost his treasured possessions to a fellow patient, the soon-to-be-released Norris. Blanco, worried that he'll leave Slade "in a wooden overcoat", offers Fletcher his one remaining treasured possession should this happen - a map showing where his ill-gotten gains are buried. Unfortunately, Norris is listening, and planning a treasure hunt of his own. First broadcast: 14th Nov 1975 5. The Harder They Fall Godber has reached the inter-wing finals of the boxing tournament, and is a favourite to win. As in the outside world, the climax of a sports event means the chance of a flutter. However, for Grouty's gambling syndicate, the opportunity to make a gambling profit outweighs any concern for following the Marquess of Queensberry rules. First broadcast: 21st Nov 1975 6. No Peace For The Wicked It's Saturday afternoon and it's a beautiful day outside, but all Fletch wants is an uninterrupted afternoon in his cell with his dirty magazine. Unfortunately he has an endless stream of visitors, keen to divert his attentions in several other directions. First broadcast: 28th Nov 1975 Christmas Special 1975: No Way Out Fletcher plans to spend Christmas in hospital with cartilage trouble to avoid being press-ganged into Grouty's latest scheme to spring a fellow prisoner. His plan backfires when Grouty finds out about his upcoming civilian hospital appointment and gives him a vital role in the proceedings. First broadcast: 24th Dec 1975 Christmas Special 1976: The Desperate Hours Hauled in front of the governor after being caught with illicit Christmas booze, Fletcher and Godber become embroiled in trustee prisoner Urwin's escape bid as he holds Mr Barrowclough hostage, along with the governor and his secretary. Successive attempts to overpower Urwin go awry, so Fletcher tries to put his usual scheming methods to good use to save the day. First broadcast: 24th Dec 1976 |
