Little Britain LITTLE BRITAIN

About "Little Britain"

Fat Fighters!

This hysterical sketch comedy series - created by Matt Lucas and David Walliams - evolved from being a cult favourite to a mainstream smash hit in record time. In the week leading up to Christmas 2004, "Little Britain: The Complete First Series" was the UK's top selling DVD across all genres, the first non-theatrical title to top the charts in Britain since Riverdance in 1994!

The recipient of two 2005 BAFTA Awards (Best Comedy Performance and, for the second year in a row, Best Comedy Program), Little Britain also swept the board at the 2004 British Comedy Awards (beating even "The Office Special"), Lucas and Walliams were voted No. 1 in the Radio Times Most Powerful People in TV Comedy poll, and they lead the pack of nominees at the 2005 Rose d'Or awards (Europe's most prestigious comedy award) with eight nominations in the performance category.

Scottish Hotel Managers - Yeeeeesssss!

Based on the highly successful Radio 4 series, Little Britain explores the British Isles and its curious inhabitants. The sketch show travels from the Scottish highlands, through Wales, the tranquil English countryside and the less tranquil council estates of Britain's inner cities, while the narrator (Tom Baker) adds his insightful and eloquent comments for those less familiar with these fair Isles.

All of modern Britain is represented. Daffyd is the only gay man in his village (and that's the way he wants to keep it); Gary is the teenage boy with an unhealthy attraction to his best friend's granny; Marjorie Dawes is the terrifying FatFighters group leader; Emily Howard, the rubbish transvestite; and Sebastian the rather childish Prime Minister's secretary.

The series also features Bernard Chumley, the ageing theatre actor with a suspicious need to rid himself of his sister, Kitty; romance novelist Dame Sally, who has no idea how to write romantic novels; Des Kaye, the former kids' TV star and now a bitter employee of that most British of British institutions - the DIY shop; and, of course, Vicky Pollard is the incomparably incoherent young offender.

Series two saw the introduction of more characters including Bubbles the horrid health farm inhabitant, posh Harvey who is still rather attached to his mother and two Tory WI members - Judy and Maggie and the latest series saw the advent of further characters such as the old lady who has bladder problems and an MP who is forever having to fend of sordid allegations.
