Jeremy Dyson

Jeremy Dyson Jeremy Dyson was born in 1966 in Leeds, Yorkshire. He went to Leeds Grammar School and studied philosophy at Leeds University, later completing an MA in screenwriting at the Northern School of Film and Television.

Dyson has written many books, including Never Trust A Rabbit and What Happens Now, and a non-fiction guide to horror films. He is in a band, called Rudolph Rocker. With Simon Ashdown, he co-created the TV series Funland, which aired on BBC3 and starred his League colleague Mark Gatiss.

Jeremy is not an actor, and only ever appears in the League of Gentlemen in cameo roles. In the film, The League of Gentlemen's Apocalypse, he is played by actor Michael Sheen.

Mark Gatiss

Mark Gatiss Mark Gatiss was born in 1966 in Darlington, County Durham. He now lives in Islington, London, with his partner. He met his League of Gentlemen co-stars at Bretton Hall drama school, near Wakefield.

Other work includes writing for the 2001 version of Randall And Hopkirk (Deceased) and script editing Little Britain, making guest appearances in both shows. He also starred in the black comedy Nighty Night, the live 2005 remake of The Quatermass Experiment, Jeremy Dyson's comedy Funland, Fear of Fanny and The Wind In The Willows.

Film-wise, he has starred in Sex Lives of the Potato Men, Birthday Girl, Bright Young Things, Matchpoint and Starter For Ten. Mark, a massive Dr Who fan, has written for the spin-off series P.R.O.B.E as well as Dr Who novels and two episodes for the 2006 Dr Who season. He has also written two novels of his own, featuring Lucifer Box, called The Vesuvius Club and The Devil In Amber. Mark was awarded an honorary doctorate of letters by the University of Huddersfield in 2006.

Steve Pemberton

Steve Pemberton Steve Pemberton was born in 1967 in Blackburn, Lancashire. He went to St Michael's CE High School in Chorley, and graduated from Bretton Hall drama school with a BA (Hons) in Theatre Arts.

Steve was a founder member of 606 Theatre and has performed live extensively. He has also written for Variety International and was the assistant editor of the International Film Guide.

His TV work includes Gormenghast, Under The Greenwood Tree, Hotel Babylon, Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased), Shameless, Blackpool and Agatha Christie's Poirot – Death On The Nile. He was also in the film Churchill – The Hollywood Years.

Reece Shearsmith

Reece Shearsmith Reece Shearsmith was born in 1969 in Hull, East Yorkshire, and was educated at Bretton Hall drama school.

Other TV work includes Max And Paddy's Road To Nowhere, Catterick, Spaced and TLC.

In 2006 Reece worked an 11-month stint at London's Drury Lane theatre as Leo Bloom in The Producers. It followed on from a role in As You Like It, alongside Sienna Miller at Wyndham's Theatre, London.

Film-wise, Shearsmith has appeared in Shaun of the Dead and Birthday Girl.
