SERIES 1 - First broadcast 20061. Episode One After her doctor husband dies, practice nurse Sal finds herself out of a job when son James announces he will be taking over the surgery - leaving her wondering how to fill her days. Knitting and cake-baking were never her scene but she decides to join the Women's Guild. First broadcast: 24th November 2006 2. Episode Two The leader of Clatterford St Mary's Ladies Guild suggests to the Vicar that he needs a room in the church for coffee mornings to stop them having to serve tea and biscuits in the middle of his sermons. Elsewhere, recently widowed Sal decides it's time for her to get rid of her late husband's clothes, but she isn't offered much support from her children. First broadcast: 1st December 2006 3. Episode Three The town comes together to take part in the ancient tradition of "Beating the Bounds". The ladies guild are in charge of refreshments, but Rosie forgets to order the pasties. During the walk, the Vicar tries to oversee proceedings on the Moor, but his ceremonial outfit keeps getting in the way. Also Sal and Tip discover that Eileen is adopted. First broadcast: 8th December 2006 4. Episode Four Sal's daughter Tash moves back in with her and begins to drive her mad. First broadcast: 15th December 2006 5. Episode Five The Ladies Guild is helping to dress the church ready for Harvest Festival, much to the despair of the grumpy vicar, who complains about the display being just tins and packets. So Rosie goes to the allotment to find some 'fresh' for the display. She discovers instead a potato with Jesus's face on it. The vicar doesn't agree that the potato could be a calling from God, as why would God call someone like Rosie? First broadcast: 22nd December 2006 6. Episode Six The Ladies Guild is to receive a visit from the Main Wheel of the Guild, Lady Anne Crump, who has the power to shut them down. Eileen calls an extraordinary meeting to make sure they are up to scratch. When they finally arrive for the meeting they have made no effort at coming up with ideas as they have been too busy sorting out a neighbour in need. First broadcast: 26th December 2006 7. Episode Seven (Christmas Special) The whole of Clatterford comes together to put on the yearly panto in the Town Hall. Queenie takes on the role of Director, but fusses more about what hat she should wear than the casting.
