"Hardware" follows the lives of Mike, Kenny, Steve
and Rex. In the small London tool shop called "Hamway's
Hardware Store" the staff talk about their lives, have
laddish chats, do little work and sneer at any any customers
who are unfortunately enough to reveal they are not DIY professionals.
When not "working" the four relax at the nearby
cafe called "Nice Day" where Anne and her friend
Julie work.

When first aired in 2003 it seems that, after many desolate
years, ITV had finally produced a new sitcom hit. Writer Simon
Nye ("Men Behaving
Badly") was the creator and many people were predicting
another big sitcom hit for him. The sitcom was fresh and with
Martin Freeman (at the time hot from his success in "The
Office") and two of the brightest new comedy actors,
Peter Serafinowicz (voice of Darth Maul, "Look Around
You") and the young Ryan Cartwright things were looking
good. Sadly though the second series was a let-down, it didn't
build on the first and the comedy seemed to dry up. It is
a shame as the show did have a lot of potential, it's probably
too late to revive it now though. It remains to be seen whether
a third series will be commissioned after the critics and
public gave the second series a right bashing. Watch this
space.
