1. Plough Your Own Furrow
Sick of his job, Tom resigns and with his wife, Barbara, decides to give self-sufficiency a go by turning their garden into a farm.

2. Say Little Hen ...
Barbara and Tom are starting up their menagerie by bringing home a goat for milk. Meanwhile, Margo is concerned for their neighbours' decision to go self-sufficient. In an attempt to get Tom back to work, Jerry invites his boss round for dinner with the Goods.

3. The Weaker Sex?
Thinking of ways to be practical, Tom buys a cast iron stove from a passing tradesman. Barbara loses her temper after Tom leaves her cleaning the stove on her own while he potters in the garden.

4. Pig's Lib
When the Good's acquire two pigs, Margo is displeased and when they dig their way into her garden, she calls in the head of the council to have them removed. Tom and Barbara are devastated, and when Margo hears that they're going to be destroyed she sends Tom to get them back. He keeps quiet about the fact that the pigs he brings back are in fact a completely different pair!

5. The Thing in the Cellar
Tom constructs his own effluence digester in the cellar to run the lighting and electricity self-sufficiently. When left to look after the house while Tom and Barbara gather firewood, Jerry worries as the digester stops working.

6. The Pagan Rite
As the Goods struggle to pay bills, Jerry invites his boss round his and Margo's for dinner, again, to try and persuade Tom to take on some work. He refuses at the time, but secretly takes up the offer behind Barbara's back. However, his motives for wanting the money are not what Barbara thinks when she finds out.

7. Backs to the Wall
As the Goods prepare to gather their harvest, Tom badly injures his back. Things get even worse when a storm ruins the garden and leaves Barbara to gather the vegetables herself. When Margo and Jerry return from their holiday early, they muck in and help out.
