This third 1996 special was at the time thought to be last that would be made. Rodney's doing a stock take in the garage and has found an artificial leg, some Showaddywaddy LPs and an old watch. They get the watch valued and get just a little shock when it sells at Sotherby’s for £6.2 million pounds. After all these years their finally millionaires!

A staggering 24.35 million people tuned in on the 29th of December to watch the Trotters strike it rich; the episode instantly smashed the British sitcom ratings record (only a few state and royal events have beaten this audience figure!).

In what is now widely believed to be the last ever "Only Fools and Horses" episode all the loose ends are tied up. Rodney discovers the truth about his father, Denzil and Marlene go missing, Cassandra gives birth and the brothers finally visit their solicitor to find out that the news wasn't as bad as they were expecting: Albert has left them some money thus bailing them out of financial difficulty.
