| Synopsis: |
Fawlty Towers is set in a 1970s Torquay hotel. Basil Fawlty,
the owner of the establishment, is a man of infinite rudeness
with a rabid dislike of guests. His wife Sybil seems immune
to work and so it's down to poor Polly the waitress to get Basil
out of trouble. Meanwhile the Spanish porter Manuel is just
trying to learn a spot of English.

| BSG Review: |
Fawlty Towers is now considered, quite rightly, one of the
greatest sitcoms of all time. The global success it has achieved
is quite a feat considering only 12 episodes of this classic
exist. The programme is a magic formula of fantastic writing,
brilliant acting, perfect comic timing and flamboyant characterisation.
Fawlty Towers is a must-see comedy masterpiece and, as far as
the BSG is concerned, the funniest and all round most brilliant sitcom ever made (and we've seen
hundreds)!

| Notes: |
The terrible American sitcom "Payne" was
based on this show. |
