A newly-qualified Michael is released into the world of work. But finding the ideal job proves more difficult than it originally seemed.

Michael is subjected to spending an evening in the company of a sex-starved secretary when he stands in for a skiving Paul.

3. You Make Me Feel So Young

Michael and Paul become partners in Dr. Maxwell's practice. But they find getting accepted by him far easier than gaining the approval of the patients.

4. Doctor Dish

Dr. Maxwell’s daughter Sue is upset when Michael is asked to give a talk at the local girls' school, where not only his medical knowledge finds favour with the pupils...

5. Modernising Major

Paul and Michael decide that Maxwell’s practice is behind the times and in need of a revamp.

6. Congratulations - It's A Toad!

Paul thinks he has stumbled on a winner by using toads for quick and efficient pregnancy tests.

7. Change Your Partners

Sue is left unimpressed when Dick introduces Michael to an attractive lady doctor.

8. Trains And Notes And Veins

Michael invites Dick and Paul home to meet his father. But having four doctors on the premises proves to be an uncomfortable situation.

9. Lock, Stock And Beryl

Upon his return to St. Swithin’s Hospital, Michael becomes involved with a nurse called Beryl – much to his displeasure.

10. Upton Sells Out

A position becomes vacant at the private practice where Dick works, and Michael – tired of his tedious casualty job – decides to apply for it, leaving Paul most unimpressed.

11. Saturday Matinee

Michael is left in charge of the practice when Dick shirks his duty in order to see a girlfriend.

12. Where There's A Will

Michael is less than delighted when one of his patients dies shortly after his treatment.

13. Students At Heart

Back at the hospital, Michael continues his quest for a job in surgery. However, once again he is up against Lawrence Bingham.

14. No Ill Feeling!

Paul finds Michael a job with his uncle in general practice. But Mike still longs for the surgeon's scalpel.

15. Let's Start At The Beginning

Glad to get away from his job at Dr. Griffin’s practice for a short break, Michael visits Dick at the psychiatric practice where he is currently working.

16. It's All In The Mind

Paul and Michael are pleased to find their patients are healing well. But they soon discover that it is not entirely due to their own efforts...

17. Cynthia Darling

Michael is driven to distraction by an overbearing mother’s insistence that her healthy daughter is ill.

18. A Little Help From My Friends

With Dr. Griffin admitted to hospital, Michael is left in charge of the practice. Dissatisfied with Paul's work, Mike decides to replace his friend.

19. Devon Is Lovely At This Time Of Year

Upton is totally smitten by the new doctor, Nicky, and when the Dean offers Mike a new job, it looks as though he might make a mistake he will live to regret.

20. Operation Loftus

Michael's much-awaited return to St. Swithin's Hospital is cause for celebration. The festivities are quickly curtailed, however, when Professor Loftus also returns to the hospital.

21. Mother And Father Doing Well

Michael, Dick and Paul are delighted when their former student colleague Huw Evans visits the hospital with his heavily-pregnant wife in tow.

22. A Joke's A Joke

Paul and Mike decide to get jobs as anatomy demonstrators, whilst Dick's just in it for the money. However, none of them counted on Lawrence Bingham's competition.

23. Pull The Other One

Michael and Paul find they have differing attitudes when it comes to how to treat women, but soon something happens to provoke a change of heart in both men.

24. It's The Rich Wot Gets The Pleasure

Dick finds out he has inherited £50,000 following the death of his rich Uncle James.

25. Things That Go Mumps In The Night

Michael is showing all the symptoms of mumps, and is immediately admitted to Lawrence Bingham's ward.

26. Mr Moon

Michael visits Dick at the health farm at which he is now employed, and makes a bet that he can stick to the patients' gruelling diet.

27. The Viva

The junior doctors are all preparing for their viva exams, but one of them has more trouble taking his than the others.

28. Bewigged, Bothered And Bewildered

Michael ends up in court after a penicillin injection leads to a patient having an allergic reaction.

29. A Situation Full Of Promise

Michael is asked to sit on the interviewing panel for a senior houseman’s job for which Dick has applied.
