Draft sitcoms, submissions to various sketch shows, two completed screenplays, one completed novel
Activity Now:
Drafting a sitcom script called 2012, based in the offices of the 2012 Games.
Location:
Melbourne, Australia
I've been writing various things for years and picked up an award or two along the way for stageplays and prose.
I've an unhealthy obsession with British television for two main reasons.
Believe it or not, it's rather better than Australian TV which is miserable and dark or copies of British Television.
The second is that there's more money in Britain, all the networks do comedy and there is more than one avenue in so I'm more likely to get a go.
I studied for a Bachelor of Creative Arts at the University of Wollongong and promptly stopped writing for about ten years. Went mad about two years ago, churning out two screenplays, a novel and I'm planning two novels beside. All my energies are currently being thrown at a sitcom script called 2012, inspired by the Australian show The Games, but a significantly different format.
I'd love to have honest, brutal opinions on my script as well as some advice to make sure I get the dialogue right before trying to either find an agent or submit it to the Writer's Room.
Influences, in no particular order, are Green Wing, Spaced, Inbetweeners, Steven Moffat, Simon Nye, The Thick of It. There's probably more but I don't have my DVD collection handy.
