This directory has been created to help writers find each other and to help businesses and production companies discover the right person for the job they have. The profiles are listed in order of 'freshness' - the most recently added and updated appear first. To navigate the directory simply scroll down and start browsing or use the filter option if you are looking for a particular record or records (e.g. to find writers who live in your area). Looking to collaborate:
I'm Geoff Mutton. I'm currently non-productive owing to work commitments but hope to connect with established writers to complement their ideas, gain experience and develop either as an individual or a partnership. Kelvin Dickinson
Looking to collaborate:
Yes, that is me trying to look serious or meaningful or enigmatic or anything that indicates a fierce intelligence at work (or indeed at home). And the BSG encourages an accompanying pic, so what choice is there but to comply? No facial muscles WHATSOEVER were hurt during the posing of this jpeg and the finger was deployed simply to plug any leaks...sorry, what was I saying? The recognisably good stuff that stands the test of time (LEAGUE OF GENTLEMEN, MOST OF COOGAN'S OUTPUT, LEAD BALLOON, FRASIER, DAD'S ARMY, to name but a few) is what inspires me to put finger to keyboard...resulting in... I am about to commence on the first draft of my first ever sitcom script. I have a wide range of comedic influences, from the razor-sharp wit of Blackadder to the rapid fire gags of Not Going Out. I have previously written humorous fiction (published online only) and wanted to try my hand at sitcom writing. Griff Phillips
Looking to collaborate:
I'm a comedy writer based just outside Reading. I've written lots of stage comedy over the last couple of years for "NewsRevue", "The Treason Show", and one-off shows like "Comedy Pit". My sketches have featured in the "best of" shows for both News and Treason, and were taken to Edinburgh and Berlin respectively by the two shows, and my NewsRevue sketches were singled out in many of the reviews for praise. More recently I got my first broadcast credit with BBC7's "Tilt" and as a result I am now working on sketches for other BBC radio shows. My sitcoms "Art For Art's Sake" and... Keith Rees

Looking to collaborate:
My names Matthew Stott and Im a comedy writer. Ive written lots of sketches for live shows, such as Londons famous 'News Revue', and for radio, such as BBC Radio Fours 'Bearded Ladies' and BBC Radio Scotlands 'Grrr'. I have also contributed material to several TV sketch show pilots, though so far none have made it to a series, and I have a few different things, sit-coms and sketch shows, in active development with producers. I can write in a wide variety of styles, so if you're looking for a funny writer, then please get in touch! Chris Forshaw
Looking to collaborate:
Hey, I'm Chris. I mostly write sketches (Check the critique forum or contact me if you want to see some examples), but I am also working on some stand-up at the moment. I also have a sitcom in the works, first draft is complete and now I am just refining it to get it just right. I am currently in college and planning on going to university next year. I've been writing for almost 6 months now. I have had a fair few sketches in the NewsRevue topical stage show. I would love to get involved in any project really. Bye! Lee Amott
Looking to collaborate:
Lee Amott is a comedy writer who has had his comedy material performed on stage, including the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. He also has two short animated films in production. Lee has a dark, surreal edge to his humour but also combines it with a lighter side that is accessible to everyone. www.leevil.co.uk Charlie Burrows
Looking to collaborate:
It's true I'm pushing seventy, but it's not fair to say that I'm still finding my feet because I've actually located half of them at the end of my left leg so I'm 50% of the way there already. I think my latest draught will help me too because the label on it says, "Guiness is good for you." As for my first draft, the feedback I received helped me a lot... I was advised to stick draft excluding foam around the door. If I get the time I'll write a cook book called, 'Don't peel onions under water.' It will be honed from a true life experience... I nearly drowned while trying... Paul Hennell
Looking to collaborate:
I am a Media Production student, with a great fondness for writing topical and political humour as well as creating really bad puns. So far my credits include Radio 4's Look Away Now, The Treason Show, NewsBiscuit, and a monthly topical podcast from Comedy 365. I have also had a couple of topical puns used on BBC4's The Late Edition. Currently I'm continuing to write sketches for The... John Kelly
Looking to collaborate:
At the moment I'm concentrating on sketches. I'm a member of the writing teams for both Treason Show in Brighton and Newsrevue in London, and have had numerous sketches and gags performed there. I've also had sketches performed in Newsrevue's 2007 and 2008 Edinburgh Festival shows ("witty and hugely impressive" Chortle)and its Christmas 2007 Best of Year run. I was shortlisted in the 2007 Channel 4 Gags to Go competition. Like most comedy writers I'd like to do a sitcom, but I need to write the perfect sketch first. I may be some time. The Slagg Brothers
Looking to collaborate:
Winners of the 2007 Lycos and Comic Relief sketch competition, two shortlisted plays in a 2007 national radio competition (winning second), and a commissioned screenplay entering production. The Slagg Brothers have written sitcoms and performed sketch material since 2003. With work appearing regularly on TV, they also guest presented a show broadcast on TroubleTV (Sky 201). Completed work includes four feature-length films and two sketch shows. Capable of working to tight deadlines, The Slagg Brothers specialise in anarchic,... Contains Nuts
Looking to collaborate:
Right... well I am a sketch writer for topical satire shows Tilt (BBC 7) and Watson's Wind-up (BBC Scotland) and I've written for other radio and stage show comedies. I was also a finalist in the Baby Cow/4Laughs sketch challenge 2007. I've written comedy pieces for the National Press and my work for a popular football satire website has been featured in The Observer, Daily Star, a book as well as a number of magazines and I've been interviewed on BBC radio. Currently writing and directing a sketch show, finishing off my first sitcom pilot with a second one outlined and a third in mind.... Gary Bainbridge
Looking to collaborate:
You're looking for an amusing writer of sketches (dozens), sitcoms (one so far, but it's early days) or stand-up material. I'm a late bloomer in a hurry. We could make beautiful comedy together. Also, I'm a cheap date. Ed Campbell aka "Bohannon"
Looking to collaborate:
I'm Ed Campbell and I've been writing comedy bits and pieces for a couple of years now. I've written sketches for the Comedy Unit's Rough Cut shows that have gone on to be used in the Edinburgh Fringe shows "Angry Puppy" and "Will and Greg: A Sketch Show". I've also written material for Will and Greg's Channel 4 pilot. U'm still trying to make a dent in the seemingly impenetrable wall that surrounds television comedy but they haven't beat me yet! I've never written with a partner but I'd be kind of interested in giving it a go and seeing what comes of it. To describe my humour I guess... Mikey J
Looking to collaborate:
Hello world! I'm Mikey J. (Real name Mike Jackson) Now you can see why I like to abbreviate it! Am am a British writer of many genres, currently living in Worthing, West Sussex on the South Coast of England. Currently, I write topical comedy sketches for two ongoing satirical theatre shows; Newsrevue (Canal Cafe Theatre, London) and The Treason show. (Komedia, Brighton) I have also been showing a feminine side by writing short fiction for women's magazines! Not TOO feminine, though! I am NOT Michelle at weekends! Because I have the ability to write in different styles, genres and... Deferenz

My first script was a Sci-fi sitcom pilot which I co-wrote with a writing partner. We also wrote a full second episode. We had some early interest from a few productions companies. At present I am working on a few solo projects and I'm currently outlining two new sitcom ideas. I am a big horror and sci-fi fan and these aspects tend to influence my work. My favourite sitcoms include: The Young Ones, Bottom, Fawlty Towers, Yes Minister, Reggie Perrin, Red Dwarf, AbFab, Some Mothers Do 'Ave Em and I'm Alan Partridge. James Currie
Looking to collaborate:
I have a long history of writing and performing comedy which started at a young age. However, i am just starting to take it more seriously and have recently finished my second full script and am looking to start on my next three or four ideas in the coming months. I have also written a number of short sketches in the past few months which, along with my scripts, have already generated some interest. Alan Stafford
Looking to collaborate:
I’ve scripted comedy drama, documentaries, sketches and gags for performers such as Jimmy Carr, Punt & Dennis, Bill Nighy, Jenny Eclair, Rory Bremner, Sandi Toksvig, Tony Hawks and Griff Rhys Jones. A new comedy documentary - Thoroughly Modest Mollie - with Bernard Cribbins and Bill Pertwee, was broadcast on Thursday 18th September at 11.30 am on Radio 4 ("delightful" - Daily Mail). I've recently contributed material to Radio 4's The News Quiz and ITV1's Headcases (DVD out now). My radio play: Henry's Girls, starring Robert Glenister, Naoko Mori, Robert Duncan and Chloe Annett was... |
