1. Trainers
Adele has plans to see her 'businessman' boyfriend, Dennis.
But her dad, Roly, isn't happy about this, and neither is
mum, Natalie: they both think Dennis is a terrible influence
on her. Adele persuades them to invite him round, to see that
really Dennis is a fine, upstanding pillar of the community.
But things don't quite go to plan.
Meanwhile Natalie has bought Aiden some new trainers in return
for all the work he's been doing around the house. The trouble
is they're not the right brand and a defiant Aiden decides
to deface them. Roly asserts his authority, insisting Aiden
wears the mutilated trainers to school as punishment.

2. School's Out
Natalie can't wait for the school reunion disco, but her
enthusiasm is dampened when Roly refuses to go. He won't even
give a reason why he's being so stubborn and not even the
thought of Nat in school uniform will sway him.
Surely the re-appearance of the gorgeously fit Jimmy Rudolph
(Nat's old school crush) will make him budge. Or maybe Roly
just doesn't love her anymore. Meanwhile Grandpa's big mouth
gets him in trouble. After one cheeky quip too many at the
dining table, Roly banishes him to his room.

3. Uncle Sonny
An impromptu visit from Uncle Sonny from Jamaica is more
than the Crouches family can bear. Sonny's not exactly the
easiest of houseguests. Roly wants him out but what can Natalie
do? After all, he's family.
Roly fails to get through to Sonny, so he and Natalie decide
they need someone on Sonny's wavelength to have a word - enter
Grandpa Langley. Grandpa's little chat with Sonny doesn't
exactly go to plan. Not only does Sonny take over Grandpa's
room, he takes away his woman (Eileen from the bowling club)
too!

4. Heat
Roly is not happy. It seems Grandma feels the cold more than
anyone else in the house and is responsible for the huge heating
bill he has to pay for. Surely Grandpa Langley will come to
Grandma's defence?
Grandma doesn't want to be a burden, so sneaks out that night
and checks herself into a retirement home. The family visit
Grandma - it's a chance for them all to get away from 'Scrooge'
Crouch and enjoy above freezing temperatures for a change.

Natalie has a problem. After 18 years of marriage to Roly
and two children, Aiden and Adele, she's not got enough excitement
in her life. So when devastatingly handsome Reverend Garstang
arrives at Poundkickers, the discount store where she works,
and invites her for a service at his new church, Natalie is
faced with a serious dilemma. Should she go or should she
stay home and sort out her marriage?

6. Test
Natalie is determined to get some class into her life, so
when her attractive new friend Reverend Garstang invites her
to a classical music concert, she's very tempted. Even though
her husband Roly isn't happy and her friend Lindy tells her
the date will end in tears, Natalie resolves to go through
with it.
It's a last chance to taste the sophistication that she feels
is rightfully hers. Shame then, that the date goes so disastrously
wrong for all concerned. When Roly discovers that Reverend
Garstang is taking Natalie out, he knows he has to act to
save his marriage and decides to confront him.
