It now controls the video and music publishing, and TV/video production businesses of the Woolworths Group subsidiary, VCI plc, and the video/DVD publishing business of BBC Worldwide. 2entertain is also the parent company of Cinema Club.
20th Century Fox Home EntertainmentTwentieth Century Fox mainly distributes their own hit American series (American Dad, The Simpsons etc) but there are a couple of British comedies amongst their catalogue.
4DVDChannel 4 launched 4DVD in July 2005 so that it could manage its video and DVD releases itself (previously controlled by VCI). Pretty much any programme now broadcast in the UK on C4 first will be released under this label in Britain.
Acorn Media UK LtdA small company setup in 1997 which distributes some classic sitcom series. Their aim is distribute quality classic TV series and films which are being ignored by the High Street.
BBC WorldwideBBC Worldwide look after the rights for most BBC sitcoms outside of the UK.
Cinema ClubA budget DVD label which is now part of 2 Entertain.
Contender Entertainment GroupContender Entertainment Group (CEG) has released titles like Life on Mars, Will and Grace and Kath and Kim. British comedy wise they've released Mitchell and Webb's sketch show, TittyBangBang and Live! Girls! Present Dogtown.
DD Home EntertainmentBought by the Simply Media Group in August 2007. DD Home Entertainment was established over twenty years ago - they concentrate on special interest titles. Releases include Oh, Doctor Beeching!
Digital Classics DVDDigital Classics DVD is a fairly new label. Launched in 2005, they specialise in music, arts, documentaries and classic comedy. Releases to date include Futtocks End and The Rise and Rise of Michael Rimmer.
Eureka Entertainment (Eureka Video)Eureka Entertainment is the leading independent distributor of classic silent/early films in the UK. It has also started to branch out into British sitcom - they look after the distribution of "The Brittas Empire" and "2 Point 4 Children".
Fremantle Home EntertainmentThis media conglomerate distributes a number of classic comedy series on DVD. Titles include The Army Game and Benny Hill.
ITV DVD / Granada VenturesEstablished in October 2003 following the merger of Granada and Carlton, Granada Ventures is now the huge distribution arm of ITV. The company currently licenses almost 1,000 DVD titles.
John Williams ProductionsJohn Williams Productions Ltd is a production company based in the South Side of Glasgow. They distribute Scottish football and comedy DVDs. Their titles include Rab C Nesbitt.
MetrodomeA small DVD distributor which releases classic cult series on DVD, best known for their Transformers releases. British hospital sitcom TLC was one of their first comedy releases.
Network DVDNetwork DVD specialises in bring out digitally remastered older series and films.
Odeon EntertainmentNot to be confused with the cinema chain. Odeon Entertainment produce a range of DVDs across all kinds of genres. They don't have much in the way of British comedy on their books however they have distributed the Best Of British Northern Comedy DVD.
Optimum Home EntertainmentSince its inception in 1999 Optimum has supported filmmakers with a vision. They have a line of comedy classics out though which feature such titles as 'Till Death Us Do Part' and 'Steptoe and Son'.
Paramount Home Entertainment (UK)Paramount Home Entertainment (formerly Paramount Home Video) release popular American comedies over here, for example Bilko.
Passport InternationalPassport Entertainment is a relatively small American DVD company - they mainly distribute the documentaries they've produced. They have put together some comedy compilations - e.g. Cutting Edge Comedians of the 60s and 70s.
Pegasus Budget EntertainmentA small old skool DVD distributor (who are a division of Eagle Rock Entertainment Ltd). Pegasus hold the rights to comedies like Love Thy Neighbour.
Prism LeisurePrism is a leading UK wholesaler and distributor of budget, special offer and chart entertainment including some British sitcoms and film titles.
Reply DVDA label setup by a fan to release Joking Apart on DVD. In future looking to release other neglected series too.
Revelation Films LtdAn independent DVD publisher established in 1992. Their comedy catalouge includes Goodnight Sweetheart.
Second SightA small distributor who normally make DVDs about Rural Life and the Countryside. They have released I Didn't Know You Cared though.

Sony Pictures Home EntertainmentSony Pictures Home Entertainment is the Video, DVD, and UMD distribution arm of Sony Pictures Entertainment. It was established in 1978 as Columbia Pictures Home Entertainment. Mainly sticks to distributing large blockbuster films on DVD.
Spirit Entertainment LtdDistributor of live stage shows run by former VCI chief Rob Callow. DVD's from Spirit include Ben Elton's Get A Grip Live tour and Rob Newman's Histroy of Oil. Universal Pictures VideoNot to be confused with the Universal Playback arm of the company, Universal Studios Home Video have a rather good track record, and many stand-up DVDs are released through them.
Universal PlaybackPlayback release some of the more well known older British sitcoms. They're a terrible company in our opinion - in the past they've ignored most attempts to get in touch so don't expect a reply - and are very slow at bringing out follow-up series. Quite a few sitcoms (such as Just Good Friends) they have frustratingly stopped distributing mid-way through the seasons.
VCI GroupThe VCI Group was a large Woolworths owned distributor which released hundreds of sitcom DVDs - including most of Channel 4's pre-2005 output. It is now part of 2 Entertain label.
Video Collection Int. Ltd.The former full name of the VCI Group. VCI is now part of the 2 Entertain group.
