| Synopsis: |
This sitcom focused on the Liverpool based Boswell family,
a group of Catholics who were experts at exploiting the system
to get by in life. Despite the fact that none of the Boswells
are officially employed, they manage to live a fairly good life
thanks to government handouts and various cash-in-hand jobs.
The head of house was the large mother Nellie, who brought
up the children (Joey, Jack, Adrian, Billy and Aveline) without
much help from her husband Freddie who spent most of his time
chasing after "Lilo Lil".

| BSG Review: |
The initial response to this sitcom was poor,
both from the critics and viewers. It was also attacked by the
residents of Liverpool who pointed out the show didn't do much
for the stereotypical image of the lazy Scouser.
After a few seasons though the show found its stride and
its popularity rocketed. At the height of its powers it was
pulling in 21 million viewers, something modern sitcoms can
only dream of. With strong soap-like storylines and lots of
funny dialogue it's no wonder this sitcom did well.
