| Synopsis: |
Bernard Black is the worst bookshop owner in history. He
hates customers, cares little for books and spends most of his
time drunk and insulting people. Manny is Bernard's unwelcome
assistant, an overstressed nervous accountant who undergoes
a life-altering transformation after accidentally eating The
Little Book of Calm. Fran is Bernard's only friend who runs
the Nifty Gifty store next door, selling novelty items she can't
identify. |
| BSG Review: |
A funny blend of slapstick, rapid fire dialog
and surrealism. Strongly reminiscent of "Fawlty
Towers" in its style and the unlikeability of the
lead character. The cast is top-notch and the situations always
utterly ridiculous. |
| Notes: |
Dylan Moran has hinted that there will be
no more series of Black Books. |
