I'm Alan Partridge - Series 1 - First broadcast 1997
|
 |
1. A Room With An Alan
Alan now hosts "Up With The Partridge", an early
morning show on Radio Norwich. Living in the Linton Travel
Tavern Alan is desperate to return to TV so he can afford
a flash new house. He fails to impress BBC chief commissioner
Tony Hayers with his programme ideas though. With things not
looking too promising he resorts to attacking Hayers with
some Stilton cheese.

2. Alan Attraction
Facing impending bankruptcy, Alan is forced to give up his
Rover 800 and drive a Mini Metro instead. He must also sack
everyone at his company Peartree Productions but rather than
admit he failed to secure a second series, he makes up poor
excuses to fire everyone.

3. Watership Alan
Alan upsets the local farmers with remarks about BSE and
doesn't do a very good job of making amends when the union
rep comes on his radio show. He is attacked by the farmers
whilst filming a corporate video for Hamiltons Waterbreaks.
Meanwhile he tries to explain to the hotel staff why he was
watching Bangkok Chickboys on his TV and wears some rather
skimpy blue shorts.

4. Basic Alan
The Linton Travel Tavern closes for the weekend leaving Alan
as the only resident. He's so bored he rings his son Fernando,
dismantles the Corby trouser press, goes on a long pointless
drive. Back at the motel, he catches the staff doing cruel
imitations of him, but tries to show he's game for a
laugh by preparing a prank of his own.

5. To Kill A Mocking Alan
Alan tries to impress two executives from Irish TV by staging
a pilot version of a new chat show at the Linton Travel Tavern.
Sue Cook is lined up as his star guest, but she pulls out,
leaving Alan to answer questions from the audience. When the
executives want to go back to Alan's house to discuss
ideas, Alan is "helped" by his biggest fan Jed Maxwell
who pretends Alan lives at his house. It turns out going back
to Maxwell's house wasn't such a good idea though.

6. Towering Alan
Sue Cook phones Alan with some good news, Hayers has been
killed in an accident thus opening up the possibility of a
second series. Alan can hardly contain his glee at the funeral,
especially when he gets some encouraging signals from Hayers'
replacement. The morning after hosting a terrible leaving
party for the staff at the Linton Travel Tavern where he has
lived for the last 182 days he goes to see the new BBC Commissioning
Editor, Chris Feather. Just as Feather is about to sign Alan
up on a new 5 year BBC contract he dies, thus leaving Alan
with a bit of a problem.
