SERIES 1 - First broadcast 2005
1. Stuck In The Middle With You
Bex's decision to take her relationship with Ryan to the next step backfires and somehow results in them breaking up. How did that happen? She hadn't meant it to happen.
Things don't get much better at work when her boss, Charles, insists she find some prosthetic testicles for his newly neutered dog - just another task in a day's work for Bex.
Finding herself suddenly single, Bex reluctantly agrees to go speed dating with her colleague Chris. Just as she's about to leave the flat, her dad Jack turns up unannounced to stay the night. Left alone, he overhears a strange answerphone message and decides his daughter needs rescuing from the speed dating.
First broadcast: 7th Jan 2005
2. Papa's Got A Brand New Bag
It's time for the annual office weekend away. Or rather it was until it was decided, by the bosses, that only the bosses could go. Ruefully, Bex returns home to find her father in a compromising position with a female friend, in her bed. She is traumatised and cannot contemplate using her bedroom ever again.
Meanwhile, Charles and Chris gleefully head off intending to make the most of a luxury hotel only to find themselves roughing it in the woods instead. Surprisingly, Chris discovers her true self during the survival course but lands Charles with a black eye in the process.
First broadcast: 14th Jan 2005
3. The Time Warp
Bex's hateful cousin is getting married but, worse than that, Bex's divorced parents are both going to the wedding. She persuades Ryan to come along to help her get through the experience. Drinks flow and Jack is shocked to discover his ex-wife is planning to remarry. Bex gains enough Dutch courage to tell her cousin just what she thinks of her, and everyone else, during the speeches.
Meanwhile, Chris finds out Jan has another job in an upmarket shoe shop. Whilst trying on shoes they are accused of shoplifting. Security has to intervene and only another loyal customer who knows the two of them can vouch for their integrity. Enter Charles with his camera.
First broadcast: 21st Jan 2005
4. Breaking Up Is Hard To Do
Bex's new kindness and honesty policy is put to the test when Charles asks her to break up with his girlfriend Fiona on his behalf. He claims he's tried everything but it turns out he has been opting for the silent treatment in the hope she'll get the hint. Bex is outraged and is sure that some plain talking will do the trick. However, Fiona is not what Bex bargained for and things take a turn for the worse.
Elsewhere, in the office, Jan tries sucking up to Chris to get a pay rise but is annoyed by her suggestion to eat less and sell her hair. A battle of wills follows with Jan using petty tactics to try to get her way.
First broadcast: 28th Jan 2005
5. Gimme Shelter
Ryan's flat has become uninhabitable and so he's moved his stuff into Bex's. But with Ryan come his two friends, an up-to-the-minute sound system with Xbox, a lot of junk and surprisingly, Bex's father. At work, Charles tries to build up morale among 'Team Charles' by introducing an open door policy. It's not as easy as it seems.
Chris finds herself with some explicit marketing products and 24 hours to fix them before they are sent out to schools. It calls for a desperate deal to be done with Jan. Back at Bex's, Jack is busy thrashing Ryan and his mates at poker. Bex decides to join the high stakes game and ends up in a head-to-head with Jack. But who's bluffing?
First broadcast: 4th Feb 2005
6. Private Dancer
Charles finally gives Bex the chance to take a client out on her own. However, the client is an aging button manufacturer who wants to go to a strip club. Bex turns to Ryan for support but he has some news of his own - he's met someone else. He agrees to accompany Bex to the club but he is forced to bring his new girlfriend too.
Chris decides she needs a sports car and who better to help get one at cost than Bex's car dealer father. Armed with her used car price guide and flirty outfit, she is convinced she's going to get a good deal. However, Jack is immune to such tactics.
When Charles finds out that Bex has been forced to go to a strip club, he sacrifices his own date to make sure she is OK. Bex is furious and thinks he has come to check up on her - why doesn't he trust her to handle a client?
First broadcast: 11th Feb 2005
7. Hanging On The Telephone
At last, Bex has met a man. He said maybe they could "hook up on Friday" but is that definite? She's waiting for a call from the mystery man and has naturally kept Friday free. When is he going to call?
Bex has allowed Ryan to use her shower while his is being repaired but he ends up breaking it and Jack has to come round to fix the bathroom. Charles is worried about his dog, Rory, who is living with his ex-wife. She has a new boyfriend and he thinks Rory will become attached to the new man instead. He decides to take drastic action. Where else can he take refuge but in Bex's flat? Chris has also fallen for a new man - someone she can mould to her own needs, or so she thinks.

8. Nothing But Flowers
Bex turns 30 and all she wants is someone to give her flowers but nobody listens. Not Ryan, not Jack and definitely not Charles who is whimpering about some major surgery he has to have on his big toe. Chris and Jan decide to organise a surprise birthday party and, to get her out of her flat, they set her up on a blind date with an old friend of Chris's called Robert.
Robert turns out to be good looking and considerate but recently divorced. Old feelings are rekindled when she bumps into Ryan and his new girlfriend at the restaurant. Meanwhile, Bex's surprise party is going full swing, especially for Charles who has brought his date. Everyone's there - except Bex.
